Havok Sees Exponential Growth in Asia as More Developers Adopt Havok Technology
ChinaJoy -Shanghai (July 18, 2012) – Havok™, a leading provider of game development technology, will be expanding its Asian operations and will be keynoting the ChinaJoy 2012 conference, both underscoring the company’s great strides within the Asian marketplace since the acquisition of 3D game engine, Vision Engine last year. Since last year, Havok has seen expanded development in China and Korea as both countries look to Havok’s Vision Engine technology to provide a powerful and customizable toolset for mobile and MMO game development. To help support the growing number of Havok partners in Asia, Havok has extended its localized teams within China, Korea and Japan, enabling Havok to dedicate additional resources toward serving the specific needs of each market and provide superior customer support.
During ChinaJoy 2012, David Coghlan, Havok’s Managing Director, will be giving a keynote lecture at the conference entitled, “The Future of 3D Online Games,” where Havok will discuss the future of MMO and online games and examine the industry trends that will shape the next five years. Furthermore, David will explain key factors that influence producers, designers and programmers as well as provide suggestions on how Chinese developers themselves can take advantage of global technology trends. With nearly 10 years of experience in the games technology industry, David Coghlan has played an instrumental role in driving Havok’s success, leading the company’s overall strategic direction and growth. During his tenure, he has held a number of senior roles within the company and most recently oversaw the Trinigy acquisition. The keynote will be on July 27 at 9:00AM in Room 4 on the 3rd Floor of the Kerry Hotel, Pudong.
Havok will also be presenting a speaking session by Joel Van Eenwyk, Havok’s Developer Support Engineer in their sponsored session titled, “Immersive 3D Online Game Development with Havok Vision Engine,” on July 25 at 1:30PM in Office RM 8 and 9. In the session, Havok will outline technology challenges that developers face in building online immersive worlds and how Havok tools address those barriers. Additionally, Havok will be showcasing demos at booth W5-B206 where the company will meet with partners and developers to reveal their latest in innovation and provide an in-depth look at how Havok is leading the future of online and mobile games technology as the industry continues to increase fidelity and realism.
