Can Havok Physics work with my engine?

Havok Physics is an SDK that can be integrated into any engine. For engine teams, and studios using proprietary solutions, Havok Physics SDK can be fully integrated into your engine.
If you are using Unreal Engine, we provideĀ Havok Physics for Unreal, a fully supported full integration that serves as a drop in replacement for the default physics engine. Havok currently offers an implementation of physics for the Unity Entities system – Havok Physics for Unity– created alongside the Unity team, and an implementation of physics inĀ BabylonJS.

I have no destruction in my game. What can Havok Physics offer me?

Havok Physics provides fundamental functionality that is important for any type of game. Character controllers provide robust player collisions against the landscape. Fast ray casts and shape casts allow you to drive gameplay. Geometry processing utilities can improve your content pipeline including for non-physics assets.

How does Havok Physics handle fast moving objects?

By default, Havok Physics uses continuous collision detection. We offer a mature, optimized, and flexible collision detection pipeline to create the exact solution for your needs.

How is Havok Physics Supported?

Havok Engineers are on hand to help overcome any obstacles that appear when integrating Havok physics into your engine. All Havok products are fully supported by the team and come with comprehensive documentation.

Havok comes with a Visual Debugger and a set of viewers to easily identify potential issues during development. The Visual Debugger also supports a heatmap viewer that allows you to quickly visualize objects causing performance problems

What do you mean by Havok Physics is cross platform deterministic?

Havok Physics guarantees identical output across all supported platforms and targets. This means you will always get the same behavior and performance regardless of what platform you run your game on.

This guarantee is for the SDK itself, and depends on it being integrated into a deterministic engine.

What are Havok Physics Particles?

Havok Physics Particles are best thought of as lightweight physics objects, where you can trade high fidelity for ultra-fast performance which is ideal for non-gameplay critical object or VFX. They are extremely malleable, and cheap to simulate, offering a wide range of functionality including enhanced destruction, physically reactive air suspended particles, and fluid simulation.
