David O'Meara - Managing Director

David O’Meara is responsible for defining corporate strategic direction and managing the company to achieve its ambitious technical, financial and commercial goals. David O'Meara has more than 20 years senior management experience in the software, services and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Havok, David was Chief Executive Officer of Commerx, a procurement software and services company. Previously David was part of the senior management team at Sterling Commerce, a Forbes 500 company (NYSE: SE) where he served as Group Vice President Business Development. In Europe, David was Director of Business Development for Unisource NV (Netherlands) and Managing Director of PostGEM Ltd (Ireland). David holds a degree in Economics from Trinity College Dublin.

Kurt Pakendorf - Vice President and General Counsel

Kurt is responsible for the company’s legal activities and supports corporate development, the sales contracting process, alliances, marketing, business development, human resources, facilities and information systems and manages and protects Havok’s patent and trademark portfolio. Kurt has 18 years of legal experience, including extensive multinational experience across a broad range of industry sectors and legal disciplines. Most recently, Kurt was Assistant General Counsel of i2 Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITWO), a public supply chain software and services company based in Dallas, Texas, USA. Kurt has previously served with the United Nations as a Legal Officer for the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, worked in London and Brussels for the international law firm Denton Wilde Sapte LLP and practiced as an attorney in South Africa. Kurt earned his law degree from the University of Port Elizabeth, is an admitted attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa and served as an officer in the South African Navy. During his career Kurt has been involved with large M&A transactions, regulatory activities, litigation and arbitration matters, privatization activities, large agreements for licensing, partnership, consulting, OEM, railway and oil/gas related activities and projects and managed a team of lawyers in the US, EMEA and Asia Pacific. He is co-author of the UK Current Law Statutes, Petroleum Law 1998.

 

Jeff Yates - Vice President Product Management

Jeff Yates is responsible for product definition and implementation of new product strategies. Jeff brings over 15 years experience managing the development and release of commercial 3D animation and modeling tools for games, video, and film. Prior to joining Havok, Jeff served as Engineering Director for Discreet, where he guided development of 3ds max and Character Studio for over 7 years. Jeff previously spent 8 years directing engineering, customer relationships, and product strategies at Alias | Wavefront and Electronic Arts. Jeff earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

David Coghlan - Vice President Development

With more than 10 years project management experience, David Coghlan is responsible for growing and developing engineering and product development, both organically and through acquisition and partnership.  He previously held other senior roles at Havok, including Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Havok, he was Director of Strategic Planning for Elan Corporation (NYSE:ELN), an international biotech company. During his career, David has led the execution of a number of major corporate development and licensing transactions with a combined value of over $1bn. David holds a degree in Finance from Trinity College Dublin.

Mike Walsh – Vice President, Head of Worldwide Sales

Mike is responsible for Havok’s overall worldwide sales operations including Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. With over 18 years experience in the video game and technology industries, Mike has helped restructure and grow several sales organizations. He offers a proven management record and believes in building strong customer relationships.  Most recently, Mike served as North America and Australia Regional Sales Manager for Softimage, where he helped increase business for both the indirect and direct sales channels. He was responsible for the sales and sales operations in the United States, Canada and Australia. Mike also as served as Partner Sales Manager at Alias, where he assisted in the reorganization of the North American Northwest sales and oversaw sales to distribution channels. Before that he spent 4 years at SGI, leading the re-building and growth of SGI’s Federal sales organization.  Mikes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Mary’s College.
